Newberry Michigan is located in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan and offers tourists and residents alike the best winter time recreation in the north. With thousands of snowmobilers visiting our great Upper Peninsula every winter, information on the trails, weather & membership are vital. |

Trail report updates are done daily. Please check for updates after 8a.m. For the extended weather report, go to your favorite weather reporting site, Our zip code is 49868 SEE TRAIL REPORT PAGE. The official opening of trails is December 1, The gates are open and we are waiting for snow. It is 40 today but suppose to cool down to the low 30s for the end of the week. Still no signifcant snow in the forcast. TASA has gotten their new groomer. The new groomer is a Deere 7330 Comfortgard Premium Cab Tractor, with the saucey 4 track system, and a Sur Track drag. Unfortunantley Trail Permits are going up this year, they will now be $45.00, although this is for the next 5 years There will be new Trail Maps out this year, they are still only $4.00 *SEE THEE TRAIL REPORT PAGE FOR COMPLETE REPORT*

TASA Groomers
TASA is responsible for grooming and maintaining 128 miles of snowmobile trails that connect to other area trail systems that reach out throughout the entire Upper Peninsula of Michigan. To keep these snowmobile trails in top shape, it takes a lot of man power, and hours of hard labor & committment.

What is TASA?
TASA is a non profit organization that was organized for the purpose of promoting and advancing the general welfare and safety of snowmobiling. TASA also is here to serve the interest of snowmobile owners, to defend such owners against discriminatory legislation and burdensome taxation, to develop a fraternal spirit among all snowmobile and other winter sport enthusiasts, to provide a medium for the exchange of snowmobiling information, to lease or own property for public and association uses and to perform all desirable and lawful functions for the successful operation of the association and in the general public interest.
TASA’S ACCOMPLISHMENTS:
TASA is not a “social club” but rather an association who’s main purpose is to better the sport of snowmobiling. TASA has accomplished its tasks through countless VOLUNTEER hours of brushing, repairing, signing and grooming the trails; construction of the building to house equipment (and we are in the process of getting plans drawn for an addition); maintaining the equipment in proper working order, acquisition of necessary tools to maintain and repair the equipment, processing numerous reports for the DNR, and parking access at the Newberry trailhead, the 3 Mile Staging area and the staging area at junction of CR 407 & CR 416.
When TASA was formed in 1987, TASA was responsible for approximately 40 miles (one way) of trails. Today, TASA is responsible for approximately 128 miles (one way) of trails.
